A teenage boy with the looks that would be considered handsome if anyone cared to notice him had arrived on Valencia Island and was heading towards the laboratory. This was Logan; actor, dislexic, vegetarian and werepokémon. This meant he was the unusual sort who had a slight drawback with the trait of theirs which meant they were forcefully transformed into a Pokémonic monster (usually a canine, there's not much scary and monster-like about turning into a Budew) every time the full moon rose in the sky. For Logan, this hadn't happened yet, but there was a full moon coming up soon. He was dreading that night, but it was inevitable. All he knew was that he would become an Arcanine, since that was the form the man who had bitten him was forced to take. He hoped he wouldn't accidently bite anyone. He'd take extra care of that, plus being on a journey like this would help in that he'd be away from humans unless he got a travelling partner. In a way he hoped he would; he did get lonely sometimes.
That little issue was always there, nagging him from the back of his mind. He just did his best to ignore it. It wasn't too difficult to do so now, considering that the lab was in sight. "Ah, Professor Ivy's lab. Home to a great array of Pokémon of all varieties. All that's left to do is see which one's right for me!" he smiled, speaking to no-one in perticular as he started walking again. They had a load of Pokémon like Eevee, Pikachu and Pachirisu. He personally wasn't too keen on them. They were cute, true, but they weren't actually that good at battling and were often spoiled. They definately didn't suit his personality, anyway. What he wanted was perhaps something that he could be good friends with rather than mother or whatever, to have as an equal. He wanted a Cyndaquil, or maybe a Charmander, or perhaps a Gible, Torchic or Ponyta.
Finding himself at the door by now, Logan knocked on it sharply, hoping the Professor wouldn't take too long to answer. He was actually quite excited now. [/blockquote]

The door opened and a huge Pok?mon about as big as Logan appeared at the door. It was a Lucario, the aura Pok?mon who had answered the door,<Hello,> said the Lucario,<Are you perhaps here for a starter? The Professor's away right now, but I could help you out if you've like.> The Lucario motioned for Logan to come into the lab. He then picked up a clipboard with names on it, handing it to Logan. These were the Pok?mon he could pick from, as a starter.

Although he had been able to understand the speech of Pokémon since being bitten, it was still weird for Logan to understand exactly what the Lucario was saying. Well, it would be a feature he'd have to get used to, he supposed. He considered briefly that it might be more weird for those who didn't know his secret, which was just about everyone, because he looked like a perfectly ordinary human other than the obvious time of the lunar cycle. He nodded to the Lucario, taking the clipboard and scanning his eyes down it. He'd already looked up what he wanted for a starter, but of course it was important to make sure that the lab actually had some of the Pokémon he wanted remaining in the lab.
"Would it be possible to meet a Charmander, Cyndaquil, and a Gible, please? Don't want to be any trouble, but I think it's important to see the personalities and all that. I don't care about the genders." he smiled, feeling a little odd asking for things. The werepokémon wondered how much a Pokémon like Lucario could tell from his aura, not sure how anyone, Pokémon or human, would take the news of his secret. After all, werepokémon weren't the sort of thing most people believed in. He didn't really want anyone to find out, either, since he feared how people would treat him if they knew. He shut his eyes for a moment, trying to tell that nagging part of his brain to just shut up for a little bit. [/blockquote]

The Lucario got the requested Pok?mon for Logan. It was kinda funny really, seeing a Pok?mon releasing other Pok?mon out of Pokeballs. First came the Charmander, which was a shiny. It walked over to Logan curious about the boy. The Gible looked at him and just growled a warning growl to stay away. The Cyndaquil just curled up and went to sleep, acting like it was bored with Logan.

Logan smiled at the sight of the three Pokémon, trying to base his decision on the creature's personalities rather than their looks. He was aware that by the colour of the Charmander's scales, it was what was known as a shiny Pokémon, but he was well aware that it night still not be right for him. He shuffled from one foot to the other before looking at each of his options.
Charmander was curious and not afraid to approach Logan, which was definately a good thing. There might be more problems, though, when he got to know the salamander better. He shouldn't rule out the others. Gible seemed a little hostile, so that one could be ruled out. Cyndaquil was perhaps too lazy to be the best companion ever. That just left the Charmander, then. "I would like the Charmander, please." he smiled, making his choice about his starter Pokémon. [/blockquote]

"Ok, just let me recall these other guys," said Lucario, speaking human speech this time. Well, Lucarios have been known to be one of the few Pokémon to be able to speak human, but they could also speak Pokémon as well. That's what made Lucario the perfect lab Pokémon partner for Professor Ivy. Lucario put back Gible and Cyndaquil into there Pokeballs and put them away. He looked at the shiny Charmander before handing Logan it's Pokeball, figuring he'd want to leave it out for awhile to bond with it. Lucario then handed Logan a Pokedex and about 5 Pokeballs,"You do know how to use these right?" He asked, in human talk. Looking at the various items Lucario had handed him, Logan nodded in answer to the question. "I think I know how to use the Pokéballs, thanks." he replied. You just had to press a button or throw it, right? He was pretty certain that was how it worked, and it wasn't too complicated, anyway. He was impressed that Lucario could speak in human, since there weren't many Pokémon that could do that. It was good of him to learn that. He glanced at his new Pokémon, wondering whether he would ever be able to speak human. He doubted it; Charmanders, Charmeleons and Charizards weren't known to do that, and they probably didn't have the right setup of vocal cords or something.
"Thank you very much, Lucario. I'm pleased to finally have my starter Pokémon, and you've been very helpful. Thanks, and goodbye." he gave the Pokémon a grateful smile, inclined his head in respect, and left the lab, the golden scaled Charmander following on behind him.
Thread finished. [/blockquote]
