IT KILLS ME THAT I HURT YOU THIS WAY
the worst part is that i didn't even know
the worst part is that i didn't even know
• • • welcome to the world
give us the rundown - all the basics.
ALIAS: Just Vance will do.
AGE: Sixteen.
BIRTHDAY: November 28th.
GENDER: Female.[/sup]
[/ul]
• • • look in the mirror, tell me what you see
paint us a picture, let us see you.
WEIGHT: One hundred twenty-six pounds.
BUILD: Lean, with a body shaped more like a pear than an hourglass.
EYE COLOR: Vance's eyes are a light, chocolate brown, with small amber flecks gently lining the surface. Her pupils are not black, and are a very dark coffee color, but they appear lighter while hitting sunlight, giving some the impression that she is possibly blind. Her eyes seem to always light up, and it's easy for someone to tell if she feels depressed, for they become dull.
HAIR: Vance's hair is a sunny golden that seems to have a small glow when the sunlight's rays rest on it. Her hair is smooth, and silky, but she constantly has to shower when the receives the chance as it becomes greasy very easily. She has three tan colored rings in her hair, often called coontails.
SKIN TONE: Pale, due to the fact she spent a lot of time indoors reading countless books on taxidermy. Not pale enough to where she looks like a ghost, though, for she has lived on the streets for two years.
CLOTHES: Vance does not have any sort of style. Why? Because she is colorblind. She doesn't quite understand that neon orange shorts don't look pleasing with dull brown shirts. Color, or fashion, is not an option for the girl; she lives to survive, and will wrap her body in whatever she can find that can prevent hypothermia at night.
There is a small problem; she will not wear pants that don't have pockets. She would quite literally rather die before wearing anything on her lower body that didn't have pockets. To society it seems very odd, but to her, she believes in this and will go to desperate measures to satisfy her need for pockets.
SCARS: She has a scar on her right pinky finger. She held a pocket knife caveman style while trying to close it, resulting in the blade snapping on her finger.
OTHER: Her sitting posture is not very good, so she can only run or jog for about a mile before completely giving out. Performing everyday tasks such as walking are easy, but she sometimes gets a knot in her right calf while walking. She doesn't have the stamina and speed to run very fast, but when you confine yourself in a world that consists of three blocks, this is rarely a problem. An interesting thing about Vance is her accent; she has a thick Australian accent, which she isn't exactly sure where she got from... perhaps a tourist. There is a charm about her voice, for sure.[/sup]

• • • be careful of the company you keep
tell us all about their social connections.
FATHER: Her father is unknown. Vance's mother never bothered to look him up or file a police report against him, for she felt blessed to finally have a daughter who was a guard dog, simply because she needed the protection.
SIBLINGS: She probably has many siblings, since her mother did not put her father in jail, but she currently knows of none.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FAMILY MEMBERS: A young cousin named Ali. Although Ali was much younger than her, Ali often chimed french songs to Vance to lull her to sleep and teach her about the differences in the world and how they should all be accepted.
CLASS: Trainer.
GROUP: Undecided, unless somebody else can convince her.[/sup]

• • • there is nothing normal about being normal
pour out the persona on a table and show us all the pieces
She enjoys being alone. Without anyone to either talk her ear off or start drama, life is beautiful. While others are around, however, she heavily relies on their teamwork to get the job done.
She feels guilty for thinking such a naive thought, but she heavily misses colors. She often imagines what life would be like with colors, and she admits that she probably could never look at the world the same way again if she could see them.
She also likes girls, to an extent. Those who start drama and are clingy and naive can get the hell out of her life. She likes how females often hold more affectionate relationships, and believes that affection and love is a huge sign of trust and acceptance. It could be because she was raised around the toughest crowd out there all her life.
DISLIKES: She does not like burnt food. It is not a dislike, but more of a hate. Upon eating food that is burned, the taste will make her sick to her stomach, and she often cannot remove the taste from her mouth for several days.
She cannot stand the voices that constantly swarm around in her head.
Vance is a rather... unbalanced type of person. She doesn't understand the process of trial and error, or classical conditioning. If she says hello to someone and they say hello back, she freaks, not understanding that people greet each other this way.
She does not enjoy creative arts as much. She thinks of drawing, writing, or designing as a competition, and tries way too hard with it for little to no profit.
HABITS: She has excellent manners around those who can actually gain her respect. She is also prone to biting her fingernails. She has a very bad habit of biting skin off her fingers, and they are often painful and sore. She drinks coffee even though she hates the taste of it, because she enjoys the high she gets of the caffeine rushing through her veins. She calls it the drink of the gods.
FEARS: Bug Pokémon seem to bring her to tears of fear, although as a kid, she had no fear. A young Spinirak had small, neon green children on her, and she has been fearful ever since. She tries to stray away from bugs, knowing she'll have a small chance of showing the slightest sign that she's afraid of such a stupid thing while around them.
HOPES: Her only hope is to stay warm at night and get enough coffee to survive without severe withdrawal.
SECRETS: One of her largest secrets is that she is afraid to tell others that she is curious about her sexuality.
MENTAL CONDITIONS: Psychosis, seeing or hearing things which are not really there. This has led her to believe that she sees a colorful rainbow Mightyena, named Juice, who only appears on Halloween, and days that end in 13.
GENERAL PERSONALITY: She doesn't exactly have any friends, but is desperate to make some. She's great at being friendly and obtaining friends, but often loses them due to the fact that she is overly-friendly and radiates around them like a moth attracted to light. She tends to trust anyone, as long as they show just a small sign of caring about her. She works best with cooperating with others, but will often have her feelings hurt by the people she works with. She is a bit quiet, unless you really get to know her and encourage her; then, she comes out of her shell and tries to be a supportive, talkative person. She is easy to approach and talk to, and is a very good listener.
She does, of course, have loads of creativity, but refuses to use it; or, better yet, doesn't exactly know how. She tends to become overwhelmed easily, and can only focus on one thing at a time. She is selfish when it comes to life's pleasures, such as food or good friends. She doesn't know much about fads; most of the things she likes, her previous friends did not like, and vice versa. She has a great sense of humor, however, she fails at being funny. She understands and loves sexual and racist jokes. She will laugh along with friends, sometimes to the point where her sides hurt, and will sometimes even laugh at something she did herself.
She wants to be the leader of everything, to gain the power and love that her mother once had, but is instantly shot down by authorities. If she tries to be polite and the person she's communicating with is rude in return, she will ignore them, bottle up her anger, and go along her way. Lately, however, she's been becoming extremely close to blowing all of her pent up anger, as if the bottle she had been putting it all in can barely hold any more. She does love seeing new people and places, though, but always has a fear of change lingering in the back of her mind. She's very afraid of pain, both physical and mental, so it's understandable that she does not like unpleasant surprises. She has always pulled through thinking of the future adventures that would someday await her someday.
She does not have any philosophies.
She easily becomes emotionally attached to things and people, and is crushed when they are taken away from her.
She always seems to want to comfort anybody who is hurt, even an enemy. She'll give them a small smile, claiming it'll be alright in that sometimes-hard-to-understand accent of her hers. She's very submissive, but it doesn't mean she's shy to the point of stuttering and twiddling her thumbs. Although she's willing to take orders, this doesn't change the fact that she's outgoing and bubbly, and always willing to be the leader as long as nobody else minds. Sometimes she is too friendly and radiates around her friends as if they have a gravitational pull, which can become annoying, but being loyal to the young female and keeping her around will someday prove to be useful. Although she in in her older teenage years, she is like a young child; naive, believing there's a good in everything, and easily manipulated. This is more than likely to get her into serious downfall in the future.
And most importantly, she lets her emotions guide her. [/sup]

• • • my life is not an open book
oh, tell me a story about your past
NATIONALITY: Kanto.
HISTORY: Vance's mother was... unstable, to say the least. She grew up with the mental condition of psychosis, seeing or hearing things that are not actually there; therefore, she believed everyone but those related to her to be demons out there to get her. This belief caused her to fight with a man, who in return, impregnated her.
Other women who were twisted into this by fate would have been devastated, but Vance's mother considered it a blessing; she decided she would raise the child to be a 'guard dog', to protect her from the demons that eagerly sought to get her. Little did she know she would have twins.
Vance was born naturally along with a young boy. The boy was weak, and the mother instantly abandoned him, to be adopted by whoever. The female was kept, and as she reached age four, she was instantly put to work. She was born shy, due to the fact she had grown up with such a mother, but when her mother ordered her to kill small Pokémon such as Pidgey to 'toughen her up', it only made her even more shy and insecure. Vance soon learned that there was an outside world out there, and that there were beings called 'trainers' who raised and battled Pokémon; she wanted to be one so badly. It ached in her heart to be free of her mother, but she wasn't sure how.
Her mother had told her to take her daily dose of life; a nickname she had given for sleeping pills. As the young girl slumbered, a rather... disturbing dream came to her mind. The world was at war from Giratina; he had created a holocaust, and the smell and sights were so unbearable that during her dream, acid was brought up from her stomach in an attempt to vomit. The world was black, with putrid red skies with bloody, hazy clouds... and then, a single daisy appeared from a crack in the middle of a cliff, stretching out to her as if to comfort her. The ghosts of the previous Pokémon her mother had forced her to kill swirled and swarmed around her, scaring the daylights out of the young child; they started to attack her, beaks and teeth and claws, along with elemental attacks, fire, water, rocks, as they all chanted in an unknown language. They chanted, as it got faster, and faster, and...
She woke up crying.
Two years later, at the tender age of twelve, Vance had the same drug-induced dream. This time, there was a small hound-like Pokémon that stopped the holocaust, and rested the stirrings of anger that had come from the ghosts of the deceased Pokémon she had murdered. After her eyes fluttered open, she hurriedly made her way to the library, what would soon be known as her chamber. Spending countless hours in the sanctuary for books, she spent a majority of her time awake studying ancient cultures and religions, soon growing to worship the dog as a god. After she began praying to the canine gods for adventure, her mother grew terminally ill, refusing to go to the public hospital and relying on her herbs and ancient prayers to heal her. This didn't work.
The now-orphaned child soon found herself joining a gang called the Ame Knights, led by a wonderous girl named Colyae. After Colyae was overthrown by a sick, twisted leader who considered his gang slaves more than family, changing their morals and threatening to kill them if they did not change with it, Vance decided something had to be done. The young female, now fourteen, broke off and formed her own splinter gang, which she faithfully called 'World in Grey', due to her colorblind eyes. Her tiny gang fled to Lavender Town, but little did she know that her twin brother who had been abandoned at birth, part of the enemy, had become second in command. He convinced their twisted leader to follow the gang, until finally, there was a bloody battle between not only Pok?mon, but humans using knives and guns as well.
Vance failed miserably, and lost all but a few people. She hasn't heard of them since.
The girl, now fifteen, had inherited psychosis from her mother, which was finally starting to kick in. Being in Lavender Town didn't help at all, where she was surrounded by people swearing that ghosts and spirits were among them...
Vance's mind, in the span of fifteen years, had warped from a normal, healthy mentality to a spirit-believing state of insanity. And, believing the Ame Knights were evil spirits, she had fled to avoid her soul being consumed.
She ran for so long... a year and a half. Finally, through a lot of hitch-hiking, she ended up back where she started from. She now lives on the streets, with her beloved Growlithe, Fish. Her day is the same throughout the months; find coffee, find coffee, get food, get money, steal, buy more coffee, find clothes, find water, find anything useful in the trash, go to sleep, and repeat.
The events in her life have severly changed her; and there's no way she's going back.[/sup]
