Appearance- Nerina had her brown hair cut into a shorter style because it was more practical and she thinks it's cute. Her eyes are as round and brown as a chocolate button and when stared at may cause chocolate cravings. She has fine eyebrows and fine lips and rarely wears make up. Her teeth are a beautiful white from taking good care of them all her life and they make for a good smile.
She has a rather curvy frame and a busty chest which she tries in vain to minimise under t-shirts. Despite being out in the sun a lot, she hardly tans. She usually wears jeans, t-shirts (sometimes with a jacket), converses with trainer socks and no jewelry. When swimming or surfing she wears a sporty looking one-piece swimsuit in black with neon blue details.
Personality- Nerina is a friendly joker who likes to flirt a lot but only subtly. She's not an outrageous flirt; she's just a gentle one. She lives for swimming and more importantly surfing and she is one of the best in her local area. She sees herself as having a love of water in common with water type Pokémon but she does not intend to become a water type specialist. She'll just have a soft spot for the aquatic ones.
She likes humans and Pokémon alike. She doesn't see herself as ever being able to hate a Pokémon but there are some types of humans she hates. Mainly the ones who think they are superior, mistreat their Pokémon or are incredibly hurtful towards others. She won't stand around yelling back at these people since she doesn't think they're worth her time. If they're being cruel to their Pokémon she will report them to the police and help rescue their Pokémon though.
History- Nerina and her parents are proud Orange Island natives. They live on Ascorbia Island in an apartment in one of the many apartment complexes on the island. Nerina is biologically an only child as her parents are slightly infertile and find it difficult to concieve. She was like a miracle to them. However her parents have adopted two children from an orphanage nearby and so now Nerina has two younger siblings that live with her and her parents in their apartment.
Living on Ascorbia Island, Nerina has had a pretty good life. She's got a good family and good friends and has had a good experience at school. Being at a good school was part of the decision she took to wait until after she'd finished to begin training Pokémon. That and her mother said it might be wise to get puberty out of the way first and so avoid some of the things that had happened to her friends when they were younger. (namely teen tantrums getting them kicked out of places and suddenly needing feminine hygiene products in the middle of nowhere)
Being on an island, the sea has played a big part in her life. She's been an avid swimmer ever since she could walk and has enough certificates and qualifications to be a lifeguard. She was a lifeguard once during one summer to get a little extra cash. A few years after she began swimming she discovered a love of surfing too and has won many surfing competitions. She's also visited the Sevii Islands and all the inhabited Orange Islands.
Nerina has finished basic schooling now and most of her friends have returned from unsuccessful Pokémon journeys and are now getting jobs so Nerina decided it was about time she finally set off to see if she was one of the lucky ones who made it in the Pokémon world. After all, if she failed too at least she'd got enough pass grades to get a good job.
